One of the great English traditions is of course afternoon tea. And where better to take it than in one of England’s very first country house hotels?
Afternoon tea is served between 15.00 and 16.30 in The Dining Room, or in fine weather, on the terrace.

Named after the celebrated naval officer, Captain Marryat, Chewton Glen’s afternoon tea uses the loveliest of local ingredients and features sandwiches, cakes, scones, jams and teas that more than do Hampshire proud (although they are happy to admit that the smoked salmon comes from the slightly further afield crystal clear waters of Scotland).
